Silberman is fearlessly redefining what it means to build legacy, showing that even when genres live in contrast, they can still catch the same light, because what makes a diamond isn’t its uniformity, but the way it reflects brilliance from every angle.- Spin Magazine

Vanessa Silberman is a Brooklyn-based recording artist, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, engineer, and label owner with over 24 years of experience spanning performance, production, marketing, and artist development.

She is the founder of A Diamond Heart Production, an artist development label established in 2013 that has released more than 130 projects and expanded through multiple sub-label and studio collaborations. In June 2021, Alternative Press named Silberman and her company one of “11 LGBTQIA+ and Women-Owned Labels Changing the Music Industry.”

As an artist, releasing music under her own name, currently under the moniker V★Silver, and previously as Diamonds Under Fire (through 2014) and as one half of the alt-pop duo Lovecolor, Silberman blends dark pop atmospheres, rock grit, and cinematic textures. Her music has drawn comparisons to Robyn, MUNA, and Tove Lo, while channeling the spirit of Nirvana and The Breeders, the poetic edge of Patti Smith, and the atmospheric pull of Lana Del Rey. Others have likened her sonic world to Metric, Sylvan Esso, and St. Vincent, reflecting a versatility that moves fluidly between electronic sheen and guitar-driven intensity.

Between 2015 and 2020, Silberman toured extensively, performing and booking over 800 shows across the U.S., UK, and Europe. She has appeared at major events including Vans Warped Tour and SXSW, and has opened for artists such as Alkaline Trio, LP, Dead Sara, Uh Huh Her, Meg Myers, and R. Ring (featuring Kelley Deal of The Breeders). Her work has been featured by NPR, SPIN, LA Weekly, Village Voice, Guitar Player Magazine, Earmilk, and The Rodney Bingenheimer Show, where she received extensive airplay and charted in the FMQB Top 40.

In the studio, Silberman has engineered for and worked alongside industry icons including Tony Visconti (David Bowie, T. Rex), Kimbra, Jello Biafra (Dead Kennedys), and Harper Simon. She served as the in-house assistant engineer at Studio 606 (the Foo Fighters’ studio) in Los Angeles — where she trained on the legendary 8028 Sound City Neve console. She has worked at renowned studios worldwide, from the The Village Recording Studios (Los Angeles) to BOP Recording Studio (South Africa), and has assisted sessions for artists such as The Kills, Joan Jett, Blue Traveler, James Williamson (Iggy Pop & The Stooges) and many others.

Silberman began her career in internet marketing at Epitaph Records before the age of 21. She later worked for hitmaker Dr. Luke as a personal assistant and runner. Over the years, she has worn nearly every hat in the music industry — from A&R and booking to creative direction and strategy — and now regularly produces, records, and consults with artists through her label.

In 2025, Silberman launched her solo alternatiive moniker V★Silver, beginning with her debut single “Chasing Magic,” self-produced and co-produced/mixed by Grammy-nominated engineer Justin Hergett (Lady Gaga, Beyoncé). On February 13, she released her self-produced EP The Cost of Light (Side A), a six-track collection blending ’80s anthemic pop, dream pop, and modern alternative production while exploring themes of empowerment, vulnerability, and emotional duality. The EP marks the first half of a two-part album, with its forthcoming companion Everything I Couldn’t Say (Side B) completing a body of work built around light and shadow, shimmer and soul.

A staunch advocate for DIY ethics and women in music, Silberman has hosted, moderated and spoken on panels with Today at Apple, Chartmetric, SAE, School of Rock, SoundGirls, Girls Rock, and Girl Power! Music Conference. Through her artistry and her artist-first company philosophy, she continues to bridge recording, creativity, and business — building a career defined by versatility, craftsmanship, and fearless independence.

Additionally Silberman’s duo, Lovecolor, that she has with actor / musician Ryan Carnes, has release an album, numerous singles and videos, as well as toured the U.S. multiples times.
